Tax season breaks the tools you already have

Most small firms run client files out of whatever came bundled with their email. That holds until February.

1

One shared drive, forty clients, February

Working papers, source documents, prior-year files and the client’s shoebox of receipts all land in the same month. Storage runs out mid-season, and the fix is a bigger plan for everyone, not more room where you need it.

2

Nobody can tell you where the files actually are

The CRA generally expects Canadian books and records to be kept in Canada unless it has authorised otherwise. Consumer cloud drives answer "where is this stored?" with a list of regions and a shrug.

3

Seat licences do not do seasonal

You bring on two or three preparers from February to April. Per-seat billing either charges you for them all year or turns every hire into a licensing chore in your busiest week.

“We already pay for Microsoft 365.”

Keep it. Email, Word and Excel stay exactly where they are. This is about the one thing a bundled drive handles worst: the client record itself — large, shared across the firm, and subject to where it is allowed to live.

Storage is pooled across the firm, so one client’s 300GB year doesn’t cost everyone an upgrade

What it costs to cover a 10-person team

Monthly cost, CAD, to give ten people a shared drive on each plan's standard business tier. Competitor prices converted from listed USD.

The only price that gets cheaper as you grow

Every competitor above charges the same or more per person as a team grows. Ours is flat, so the effective per-seat cost falls as the ten slots fill.

WHO RUNS IT
Moga Web Solutions Inc.

JOD Vault is built and backed by Moga Web Solutions Inc., an incorporated Ontario company doing web, hosting and SaaS work since 2023. A real person in Canada answers your email.

Nothing here is tax or legal advice. Confirm your own record-keeping obligations with the CRA or your professional body.

Questions

Your files are stored in Beauharnois, Quebec, in the Montreal region, and are not replicated outside Canada. The CRA generally requires Canadian books and records to be kept in Canada unless it gives written authorisation otherwise, so storage location is one part of meeting that. Whether your full record-keeping setup complies is a question for the CRA or your professional body — we can tell you exactly where the bytes live, not whether your practice is compliant.

Be one of the first firms on it

We are opening to a small number of Canadian accounting firms first, before tax season. Join now and your $49.95 is locked for as long as you stay — and the first 10 firms get their files moved in for them, free.
